Static PDFs to Dynamic Intelligence: Redefining Economic Analysis for Germany Trade & Invest
Challenge
Germany Trade & Invest relied on static PDF reports to deliver complex economic data. These were difficult to navigate, hard to compare, and failed to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders such as investors, policymakers, and researchers. The task was to transform a dense, document-based service into an accessible, interactive intelligence platform.

Solution
We created a full design system with 50+ components and 10+ tailored visualization types, transforming static reports into an intuitive platform. From information architecture to responsive interaction patterns, the design strategy ensured clarity, usability, and scalability for future data expansion.

CONTEXT
GTAI Wirtschaftsdaten Kompakt (Economic Data Compact) the official economic data service of Germany Trade & Invest, delivered reliable information through static PDF reports. However, these reports made economic data difficult to access, limiting comparison and slowing down analysis. Dense documents prevented investors, researchers, and policymakers from quickly finding and applying the insights they needed.
Solution
The new platform integrates data from 26+ global sources and delivers it through an intuitive interface. With 50+ design components, 10+ visualization types, and mobile-first interactions, economic intelligence becomes clear, interactive, and scalable.
RESULTS
Static PDFs demanded hours of manual work to compare data. The new platform enables the same analysis in seconds. Users now complete comparison tasks in under 2 minutes instead of 2 hours, saving significant time and resources thanks to a structured design process that ensured a smooth, on-time launch.
